One of the best action Sci-Fi movies of 2013
A future society functions with a racist ideology where the privileged few live an off-world high life and the many are trapped on the surface of an inhospitable Earth.
The movie feels a lot like an allegory of Apartheid, focusing upon racial injustice. It is a powerful adventure and Damon is the perfect cast for the leading role. It has nerve, a quick pace and an impeccable production design. A definite watch! 😊

Gangster Squad (2013)

Chic and stylish although cartoonish gangster movie.
It’s mid-20th century Los Angeles and Josh Brolin plays a hard ass cop and ex war hero is invited to form a special squad to eliminate the mob from controlling the town. Sean Pen over acts his socks off to play a dangerous mob boss whose character is devoid of any subtle shading or pathos, he is just pure evil.
Lots of hard action, plus some excellent period style vivacious singing. There’s also the bonus of some enjoyable comic moments, not all intended. It’s a classy spectacle but reality does not come up and bite you hard on the ass in this movie and you sort of want it to. There are a few nibbles at your flesh here and there but ultimately it does not draw any dramatic blood. It’s a bit like your plumber fixing your bathroom while wearing a tuxedo; there’s an attractive superficial overlay and what you’d be more comfortable with is some genuine builder’s bottom.
The film make three main mistakes in its structure; I’m not telling you them, but I’ll sell ‘em if you want to make a classy gangster flick more enthralling than this glossy B Movie. Entertaining and worth watching even if you shut your eyes during the bloodier moments. Take out the blood and this movie could make it as a P.G. rating because of its comic book style.

A minimalistic masterpiece, and an incredible performance from Tom Hardy in one-man movie.
This is a deep psychological study of personal ethics and an outstanding directorial achievement from Knight. The script is one of the most well-written of the last decade and the cinematography serves the story brilliantly in one of the most difficult genres of shooting: a single-location shot.
In this case, it is a car that travels from Birmingham to London. During this dramatic trip the main hero also makes a journey within, a soul-searching ride that seems to spindle around some of the most vital questions of human kind: what makes a good man? How strong is one’s sense of duty and how one man can choose to do the right thing?
It is impossible for the viewer not to involve emotionally with the hero and that is what makes the film powerful in its simplicity. It is undoubtedly what I call “the classical stuff” and a definite must-watch for every cinema connoisseur. Watch and enjoy!

Enjoyable retelling of the Clark Kent story.
This could be boring, but soon we discover that the movie has a strong air of freshness plus the incredibly handsome Henry Cavill in the leading role and it contains engaging characters.
The movie takes the traditional superman plot many steps further in a larger-than-life classy way. Lots of action, and intelligent visual effects. It is a good start for a new era in the Superman franchise. An entertaining watch!

Atmospheric Sci-fi whose script lacks a little bite in parts.
As well as expanding the potential of technology, good Sci-fi expands ones consciousness to encompass emerging moral and philosophical issues. It also allows one to see the present from the perspective of the future and questions the nature of human identity. This movie ticks all those boxes but falls short on the one titled 'Great Script'. It is delivered with visually striking cinematography. I will watch this again someday.

The thrills quickly runs out of fuel.
A glitz and glamour retelling of The Wizard of Oz. Some part of it sparkle, some charm and there’s some colorful fireworks but unfortunately the movie doesn’t advance beyond its extravagant wrapping and fails to meet expectations.. Good enough to watch once 😊
CAST: James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz

A larger-than-life CGI production, interesting enough to make you watch.
I dismissed this movie a couple of times but in the end, curiosity won. And it turned out to be a visual effects extravaganza with a story that is silly and over the top.. It is easy to watch and enjoy with its shiny, epic visuals and tons of action. Before you know it, you will be captivated by its flow. Watch it and make sure you have enough pop corn ready! 😊
