Good script, excellent directing , intelligent cinematography and masterful comic timing.
One of those rare comedies that come along from time to time that gently and repeatedly tickle you in the funny bone.
The action revolves around the murderous goings on in a typically English village . It’s a cop movie set amongst the warm beer, tea and scones of Britishness. The ending climax however shows us that the film makers are aware of all the sexy Hollywood cop movie clichés and can execute and parody them with panache.
A little slow at the start but picks up speed to a good comic pace, definately worth a watch.

Beautiful, almost Shakespearian fairy tale, road movie into a magical fantasy land.
Amazing masterpiece of creative imagination. Worth watching for Robert Deniro’s Captain Shakespeare alone but it contains so much more. I think I’ll go watch it again the next time I get a chance for a quiet evening in with my loved one. Must get some popcorn in, mm, mm, mmm!
